Here is my attempt on the barrow-wights from the classic 1980s citadel LotR range. I tried to give the miniatures each a different hue of green. I am not sure, if it can be seen on the pictures.

Altar from the abyssal depths of my lead pile
When i restarted painting miniatures i found this altar in one of my storage boxes. It was one of the first miniatures i painted after my hiatus. Before the repaint it was painted in only three colours: green (statue), gray (pedestal), flesh (inside area of the wings). I then chose to paint the devil staue in bronze and dark tones, so that it is supposed to look really ancient. The uprising smoke of the numberless candles that have been burnt in front of the statue have blackened it over the centuries. I like the conception, that the denizens of the dungeon, where the altar is standing, still bring offerings to the altar, although they don't know who is worshipped there, except that it is some kind of old forgotten powerful evil. The candles in front of the altar are from Tabletop Art. I don't know the manufacturer of the altar anymore, but i guess Grenadier.

In the beginning there was lead (and maybe darkness)...
This
is the first post in my blog, where i will publish some
pictures of my efforts to minimize the lead mountain, which is stored in
boxes in the attic. The blog ist mostly about miniatures from the 80s
and 90s, which are nowadays described by the term "oldhammer". Lets see how long motivation lasts. Here are some classics:
Mighty Zog Arkwright
GW Slambo
GW Eric Umbrand Earthshaker
GW 0502
Heartbreaker 5026
Chaos Knight Heavy Armor
These
chaos warriors were painted with the intention to replace the ones from Heroquest. Bases were painted in grey, so the minis can be
used in dungeon crawl as well in skirmish games. And last but not least:
GW Slargash The Defiler
Labels: GW, Chaos, Heroquest, Heartbreaker
Chaos,
GW,
Heartbreaker,
Heroquest
